For those of you in interracial relationships how would they change if suddenly you were the race of your significant other and they were your race?? It might be hard to imagine but think about it for a minute. You'd be you but you'd be expected to have the value system of their race. Do you think your relationship would survive??

Joe say you were dating a lady from Japan, how would (you and) your relationship change if you woke up one day and you were Japanese and she was your race. It's a "walk a mile in someone else's shoes" type question.

I would call it my destiny, things that are supposed to happen they happen and we cannot prevent it. If I like the lady, and our relationship meant something, the change would be welcome one, and I would be happy, It is not always that a person would want to change his race, thats the question to which I am trying to find the answer to. If I settle in America, I will be a American, but I would still an Indian, I may be fairer the the whitest looking fair white skinned man, but I would still be called black, My blood could have been used to save one when its discovered that the receiver and I have the same blood group, but when that white wakes and if he is black hater he will still consider me as black and hate me.
I cannot change my fate being born this side of Suez Cannal, but Its worth a experience. I will say I would be extremely happy not for being the change race but being near my lady.

That's too bad Silly. Someone once said that when we get to the point where we can intermarry without it being anything special we will have acheived true racial equality. Personally I never thought of marriage as a yardstick but that saying does have a measure of truth to it.

racial equality is different from cultural equality. men and women are still reared to believe different things and act in certain ways.
i don't think any man would bite the bullit and change his surname to his wife's. switching cultures or not. women are just expected to in society. and that has specific connotations.
